the harrowing journey of young Sudanese men during the war's turmoil. Initially united by a promise—the Four Freedoms Treaty—allowing easy passage between Sudan and Egypt, they soon found themselves at the mercy of ever-changing conditions. As families embarked on treacherous crossings, these men, aged 16 to 50, were left behind. They gathered at Egyptian consulates in Halfa, Arqin, and Portsudan, their hopes hanging by a thread.
